UFM Design is a furniture and product design company dedicated to creating high-quality, functional, and visually striking solutions for maker spaces, workshops, and creative studios. Founded in 2014 by Ritchie Yau (former Product Designer at Herman Miller) and Arb Leung (former Lead Designer at Steelcase), we are a team of passionate makers designing for makers.
With decades of combined experience at the world’s leading design-driven companies, we understand what it takes to build ergonomic, durable, and inspiring furniture and equipment. Our mission is to make great design accessible—blending usability, aesthetics, and innovation to empower creators in their craft.

Our design expertise was honed through years of collaboration with industry leaders including Herman Miller, where we crafted ergonomic workspace systems; Steelcase, developing innovative office solutions; Xiaomi, designing consumer tech and smart products; and Toshiba, engineering industrial equipment. These partnerships with global brands have instilled in us a rigorous approach to balancing mass-production precision with human-centered design, knowledge we now apply to creating exceptional tools and furniture for the maker community.
